Wenger: Vermaelen “two to three weeks” away from returning

Arsenal boss Arsne Wenger has revealed that Thomas Vermaelen won’t return
until the start of December.
教授 指出，Vermaelen 到十一月前都不會復出。




The 24-year-old has missed Arsenal’s last nine games with an Achilles injury
that he picked up while on international duty for Belgium.
現年24歲的他，已經缺席了槍手最近的九場賽事，主因是在為比利時國家隊出賽而傷了
阿基里斯腱。

Speaking to fans at the club’s AGM, which is held twice a year, Wenger said:
教授 在每年兩次的年度股東大會(AGM)向球迷表示：

“First we thought it would be a question of days, now it looks to be long.
At the moment I cannot say exactly when he will play again.
『起先認為這僅是尚需數天的問題罷了，現在則得等更久。我無法肯定他何時返回球隊。

“We have been hit hard by injuries, I concede that. On that front we have
very competent medical staff and we analyse and check every training method
we can.
『一直以來我們為傷病所苦，這是我不得不承認的。在傷病發生前，我們有著稱職的醫療
團隊，我們也分析、檢查每一次的訓練方法。』

“The long-term injuries we have had have mainly been from bad tackles and
injuries that happened with national teams, when the players were away.
『長期掛病號的球員，主要都來自球員遠赴國際賽時，遇上惡意的剷球所致。』

“Vermaelen is a case of a player who had nothing, went to play for Belgium,
came back – Achilles tendon.”
『Vermaelen 正是一個例子─本來好端端的，接著為比利時國家隊出征，最後帶著阿基里
斯腱的傷病回來。』

Wenger’s comments mean that Sebastien Squillaci will continue his
partnership with Johan Djourou for Sunday’s trip to Manchester City, while
centre back Laurent Koscielny is also week or so away from returning.
教授 的回應意味著，Sebastien Squillaci 會繼續與 Johan Djourou 搭起中衛防線，前
往作客於 ManCity 的週日賽事，至於中衛 Laurent Koscielny 還需要一週的休養，離
回到訓練也還早。

已經好久沒看到 Vermaelen ....
對於槍迷而言，國際賽事真的很令人反感，
去年的 RVP 就夠我們難捱了，(當時RVP連續數場都進球)
最近則有 Walcott (已康復)、Sagna(最近康復)
